Besides specific projects such as the $3.43 billion water supply endeavor by Minera Escondida, climate change prevention advocacy groups are becoming more and more widespread internationally, with South American countries being quick to follow suit. Greenpeace is one such organization making changes to help preserve the environment, with an office located in Santiago.
According to 350.org, there are several projects regarding climate change underway in South America (although not in Chile specifically). Most of these programs are focused on youth education to make proactive measures when it comes to saving and protecting the environment.
Water.org is another such organization that focuses on increasing sustainability practice and, above all, finding more efficient ways to keep the world hydrated by funding clean water supply ingenuities. Although it does not currently do work in Chile, it is prominent in other surrounding areas: Peru, El Salvador and Guatemala. (http://water.org/projects/)
